Carla Butera

Clinical Psychologist

Carla is a clinical psychologist and board approved supervisor with experience providing trauma-informed care to young people, adults and families presenting with a range of complex mental health difficulties.

Meet Carla Butera

Carla is passionate about working collaboratively and respectfully with clients, to develop a shared understanding of their challenges and how they can best be addressed during therapy. Carla adopts a curious approach in her practice, recognising that clients are the experts in their own lives, and hopes to build on their self-awareness through the integration of evidence-based psychological treatments that are trauma-informed and deeply relational.

Establishing a safe, trusting and meaningful connection is of high importance to Carla, who works closely with clients to understand their unique perspectives and experiences.

Intervention should focus on understanding the underlying causes (e.g., early relational patterns and attachment), rather than focussing on the symptoms, in the hope this will achieve a more integrated understanding of the self and relief from psychological distress.
